Creekside Blues, Jazz & PB Fest

 
Over the weekend, 31 Penguin swimmers participated in the GCSTO Creekside Blues & Jazz Meet at the Gahanna Swim Club.   The weather was hot, but the Penguins were hotter as they swam away with 113 PBs and 15 new long course team records.  And four swimmers swept their events with a PB in every swim the entire weekend: Rachel Peroni (8 PBs), Caitlin McConaghy (7 PBs), Micheala Neal (7 PBs) and Michael Racke (7 PBs).  Diana Ziliak and Alicia Margello also finished the weekend with 7 PBs.

Fletcher Holquist lead the Penguin team record breakers by shattering the 8 & Under Boys 50 and 100 fly, and 200 IM record, and set two more records in the 100 and 200 free; Ally Braun broke her own record in the 9-10 Girls 100 and 200 free, and set a new record in the 200 IM; William Paull broke his own record in the 15-18 Boys 400 free and set a new record in the 1500 free; Joy Wharton set the team record in the 11-12 Girls 1500 free; Rachel Peroni set a new record in the 9-10 Girls 100 fly; Colleen Jaycox broke her own 400 free record for the 11-12 Girls; Cameron Hiltner broke the team record in the 13-14 Girls 200 backstroke that had been held since 2005; Joseph McConaghy broke the 15-18 Boys 200 breaststroke record; and Matthew McMahon set a new record in the 15-18 Boys 200 fly.

Meet Results

The next USA meet the Penguins will participate in is the Mike Peppe meet on July 1st through 3rd at the Ohio State University.
